Pinterest + Wendy Kaye

As a creative, I like nothing more than spending my down time pinning ideas and inspiration on Pinterest.

I build boards for just about everything – here are just a few:

  • Ideas for decorating a new room – PIN!
  • MidCentury furniture – I dream of owning – PIN!
  • Recipes – PIN!
  • Holiday destinations – I dream of visiting – PIN, PIN, PIN!

Pinterest has many uses.  For a designer, Pinterest is a valuable visual tool to build mood boards for pattern & colour ideas.  Whilst pinning for inspiration feels like far too much fun to be work – it has become an everyday goto for ideas and visual stimuli.

I’ve accumulated more than 5k pins spread across 84 boards, over the last five years, many of which are MidCentury inspired.  Watch this space for some Pinterest inspired mood boards based on my favourite colors + trends.
You can follow me on Pinterest or shop online at WendyKaye.co.uk, Etsy or Folksy.

The World of Charles & Ray Eames

Eames rockerIt will come as no surprise that as a huge MidCentury Modern aficionado, I’ll be heading to the Barbican to catch the ‘The World of Charles & Ray Eames’ exhibition.

The husband and wife duo are among the most influential designers of the 20th Century. Widely known for their furniture and production design, they also worked in the fields of photography, film & architecture.

“The World of Charles and Ray Eames includes not only the designs for which they are best known, but provides an insiet into the lives of the Eameses, the Eames Office and the breadth of their pioneering work, bringing their ideas and playful spirit to life.”

There’s still time to see the exhibition, which runs until the 14th of February.  For more information or tickets, visit barbican.org.uk
